Charleston, WV – The Education Alliance, in collaboration with the College Foundation of West Virginia, the West Virginia State Treasurer’s Office, West Virginia Bankers Association, West Virginia University, Marshall University, and the West Virginia Department of Education is partnering with three West Virginia high schools to pilot a financial literacy program designed to strengthen students’ financial capability. The high school pilot initiative will provide resources and technical support to help meet the unique needs of three different schools and to develop innovative models of financial literacy education.
The Education Alliance, through its Make Cents WV initiative, will provide three $2,000 grants, as well as additional supplemental resources, to each pilot site. The pilot schools are:
- Buckhannon-Upshur High School in Upshur County
· Meadow Bridge High School in Fayette County
· Paw Paw High School in Morgan County
