The Hagan Scholarship -

Deadline November 15, 2018 at 5:00p.m.

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, designed to provide each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt free. Recipients must graduate from a public high school located in a county in the United States having fewer than 50,000 residents. The scholarship provides up to $6,000 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters; 622 Hagan Scholars from 37 states currently attend 236 colleges and universities.

2018 Eligibility Requirements

  1. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  2. Must attend an Eligible Public High School.
  3. Must be a student in the 2019 high school graduating class.
  4. Must have achieved a high school CGPA of 3.50 or higher.
  5. Must have scored 23 or higher on the ACT (Composite Score) or 1,200 on the SAT.
  6. Must enroll at an eligible four-year college the first semester following high school graduation.
  7. Must work 240 hours in the twelve months prior to the start of college; from August 2018 to August 2019.
  8. Must complete the FAFSA in 2018 using 2017 tax return information; the EFC must not exceed $6,500.
  9. Must apply for eligible Federal and State grants.
  10. Must not have been convicted of a felony.

The intended recipient of a Hagan Scholarship is a high achieving self-motivated student in need of financial assistance in order to attend college.

"Moose Kids Talks" Scholarship

 Available for any student grade 9 through 12.

Winners could receive: 

County Level through Buckhannon Moose: $250.00

 

State Level through WV Moose Association: 1st Place $3,500

2nd Place $500.00 savings bond

 

International Level through Moose International:  1st Place $12,000.00, 

2nd Place $8,000.00, 3rd Place $5,000.00, 4th Place $3,000.00, 5th Place $2,000.00

 

To be eligible to earn the scholarship the student must attend the training session, on October 27th, 11:00am at the Buckhannon Moose Lodge (2-3 hours) and then give a minimum of three "Kid Talks" to students, age 4-9.
