Governors School of Entrepreneurship 9th, 10th, and 11-grade students

We are looking for innovative students who believe they have an idea that might be valuable. Applicants should show a passion for creating a product or idea and possess a learning style that will thrive in a creative and innovative environment. We also need students with computer and programming skills, building skills, an engineering background, business skills, creative minds, and the willingness to take a chance to succeed. In other words, we are looking for students who may be studying in your programs! We do not expect a student to have all the skills listed; those are the skills we hope to have on each team.

Please note that there is no grade-point requirement to participate in this outstanding program; however, students completing GSE who earn specific merit badges and who have a 3.0 minimum grade-point average may earn up to six hours of college credit. Marshall University Grant Due March 1

The Maier Stem Educator Scholarship was created to increase the number of highly qualified STEM middle school and high school teachers in West Virginia. Four students will be chosen for the 2019-20 academic year, and renewed for the following 3 years. The annual scholarship will be $15,000 for tuition, housing and other costs; a stipend of up to $1,500 for a laptop; and funding for a study abroad or student exchange experience. A total scholarship package of $71,000 maximum over a four-year period will be awarded. This amount may be adjusted based upon other financial aid opportunities. Selection Criteria: ? First Time Freshman ? West Virginia Resident ? 3.5 High School GPA or greater on a 4.0 scale ? 26 ACT Composite or SAT Equivalent ? Admission to College of Education and Professional Development (COEPD) and enrolled in an eligible COEPD Major —Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or General Science ? Applicant must be willing to teach for four years following graduation in West Virginia, preferably in the southern counties.

Each year Lykins awards area high school seniors $500 scholarships who have maintained a GPA of 3.0 and who are involved in community service.

High School seniors and graduates living in sites managed by Michaels or its affiliates may apply for scholarship grants for the 2019-2020 academic year, totaling at least $500,000 to be awarded in June 2019.

This grant is expressly to assist high school senior students living in Michael's properties through out he nation. In our area, Valley Green is managed by The Michaels Organization Educational. If you live in Valley Green you are eligible to apply. Application is attached.

This $500.00 one-time scholarship will be awarded to a student who plans to pursue technical/vocational training at an accredited facility. (Example: Fred W. Criteria:
Senior in high school and attended Rock Cave at least of three years.

Each year the Weston-Buckhannon Board of Realtors awards two (2) $200.00 scholarships, one (1) to a Lewis County Senior and one (1) to an Upshur County Senior. The awards are to be used for higher education in the student's chosen field. The Weston-Buckhannon Board of Realtors believes future success depends upon a balanced lifestyle. So, the scholarships are awarded on the basis of the following criteria:

 Mountaineer Chapter Scholarship Program is to assist students who plan to pursue a degree in higher education. Only students who choose to study in the fields of forestry, environmental sciences, wildlife, fisheries, conservation, or agricultural sciences will be considered.
FUNDING
Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to two (2) graduating seniors as determined by the Scholarship Selection
committee. Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to current college students. Monies for all four scholarships will be dispersed at a rate of $500 per semester. Awards will be competitive and granted on a yearly basis. Recipients must apply each year by the scholarship deadline if they wish to be considered for the scholarship. Scholarships may be awarded for up to 4 years.
APPLICATIONS
Interested students must complete and submit a Scholarship Application on or before May 1st, 2019 to be considered for the award to be applicable to the 2019-2020 school year. Applications should be completed, and a hard copy sent to:

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE –The Scholarship Committee will be appointed by the Chapter President. The committee will review all
scholarship applications and will make the final decisions on the recipients. Scholarships will be announced at the June membership meeting. Applications will be rated according to the following criteria:
Test Scores (Entrance Exams) 5 points Written Essay 5 Points
Cumulative Grade point Average (GPA) 5 points Izaak Walton League Membership 5 points
Conservation/Environmental Volunteer 5 points
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Preference will be given to students who have had membership in the Mountaineer Chapter of the IWLA for a minimum of one year.
“Membership is defined as having a student membership, or the parent or guardian having membership in the chapter.” Age may not exceed 25 years by the application deadline.
Scholarship checks will be made payable to both the educational institution and the recipient, thus requiring two (2) endorsements to accomplish payment. Each recipient is expected to be a full-time student and maintain a grade-point average of 2.5 or better.
Current recipients are required to provide a written report or make a presentation at a membership meeting of the Mountaineer Chapter of IWLA before the application deadline. The report is to explain how the scholarship had benefited his/her career development and must include a copy of the student’s cumulative grade-point average.
If no graduating seniors apply for the IWLA Scholarships, the committee reserves the right to award these funds to college applicants.
The committee also reserves the right to transfer college funds to graduating high school seniors if no college students apply. The committee additionally reserves the right to not award scholarships if no qualified students apply. Scholarship recipients that fail to report will NOT be considered for additional scholarships.

The Colombo Law Distracted Driving Scholarship Program will award five $2,000 scholarships to eligible high school seniors who meet the requirements of the program.

Scholarship winners will receive a $2,000 voucher good for 1-year from the awarded date. This voucher will be redeemable when the student accepts admission to the in-state college or university of their choice. Colombo Law will coordinate with the student and their school, and will send the check directly to the student’s chosen in-state educational institution.

  • Essays must be between 800 and 1200 words long
  • All entries must be double-spaced and written in 12-point font
  • Submitted essays should have one-inch top, bottom, and side margins
  • You must complete the “Contact Information” section on page two of the Essay Template for your submission to be eligible
  • Your essay must begin on page three of the document you submit
  • Save your essay using the following file name format: firstname_lastname.docx. For example, if your name is John Smith, your file should be saved as John_Smith.docx. Acceptable file formats include: .doc, .docx, .rtf, and .pdf
  • Once you are sure everything has been formatted correctly and you have included all the required information, send your submission to scholarship@colombolaw.com with the words “Scholarship Entry” in the subject line of the email. The Contact Information section on page two must be completed.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to enter the Colombo Law Distracted Driving Scholarship Program, you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • High school senior graduating in Spring 2019
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Currently attending a public or private high school in one of the counties listed below
  • Follow all of the instructions given in “Essay Submission Instructions”
  • Submit your essay by April 1st, 2019

For a submission to be considered, the student must meet all of the requirements listed under “Eligibility Criteria” and the submission must follow all of the requirements listed under “Essay Submission Instructions.”

Essays will be reviewed by a panel of Colombo Law staff members. This panel will narrow the field down to the top 10-20 entries. These finalists will then be reviewed by Dino Colombo who will choose five winners.

Scholarship Release Agreement

By entering the scholarship contest, you and your parents or legal guardians release and agree to hold harmless Colombo Law, and each of their partners or employees, from any liability whatsoever in connection with entering the contest, accepting any prize, or anything that may arise related to the contest. Colombo Law reserves the right to use the concepts from the entries submitted in the competition. All winning entrants will be requiring to sign releases and waivers of liability prior to the distribution of prizes.

GFWC WEST VIRGINIA SCHOLARSHIP - APPLICATION DEADLINE APRIL 1, 2019
1. The recipient of a scholarship shall be a man or woman who is a United States Citizen and has resided in
West Virginia for at least three years prior to applying.
2. Scholarships of up to $1,000 will be available. Recipients will be notified no later than June 1.
3. Only one (1) scholarship will be granted to an applicant in a calendar year. Applicants may apply each year
they are attending school. A new completed application is required.
4. Scholarships will be granted for attending an accredited college, professional, vocational or technical
program offered by an institution in West Virginia. Students must be full-time students. Scholarships may be
granted for attending a school or college outside West Virginia only if the program desired is not offered
within the state.
5. Applications shall be sent directly to the District Representative in the District where you live. The name
and address of your district representative is shown below or on www.gfwcwestvirginia.org . If you need

6. The applicant shall submit, with the application, the following requirements for eligibility:
a. Two (2) current letters of recommendation, one personal and one academic. Personal/work
reference shall be by an adult other than a family member. These need to be signed.

c. Copy of an official letter of acceptance or validation from the accredited school to be attended, or
validation of attendance for those already in a program.
7. Completed applications with all elements must be postmarked by April 1st. The awarded scholarship will be 
paid directly to the school to be attended.
