We would like to share a few important reminders and some new information as we prepare to welcome everyone back for the 2026–2027 school year. We are incredibly excited to welcome our students back on Thursday morning and look forward to a great year together!
Open House – Wednesday, August 19
Our Open House will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19, from 3:30–6:30 PM.
Student schedules will be available for pickup.
Schedule change request forms will be available.
No schedule changes will be made during Open House. All schedule changes must be formally requested and reviewed.
Please understand that while every request will be considered, not all schedule change requests can be approved.
Lockers will be used this school year. All large bags and backpacks must be placed in the student's assigned locker before the start of 1st period and remain in the locker until before the start of 8th period.
Students may carry:
Bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12"
Binders
Large backpacks and bags are not permitted in classrooms.
Personal Electronic Devices
In accordance with WV Code §18-2-46, personal electronic devices are not permitted to be used or in a student's possession for use during the school day from 8:00 AM–3:15 PM, except during the designated lunch period. Students are expected to follow the school's personal electronic device procedures throughout the school day.
Lastly, please read and complete the acceptable use policy agreement. Students and guardians must sign the agreement before the school issued device will be given to the student.
We are extremely excited about the year ahead and the opportunities it will bring. Our goal is to make this the best school year yet for our students, and we are looking forward to working together with our students and families to make that happen.

Educational late arrival or early release is available this year for SENIOR students enrolled in online dual credit or online AP courses. Please see the attached application for more information. This will only be available for students enrolled in instructional guidance periods at the very beginning or very end of the day. Students will not be permitted to utilize this if their instructional guidance course is in periods 3-6.

Through free online SAT® tutoring and SAT® Bootcamps, students can access additional support to prepare for the SAT®, strengthen academic skills, and increase college readiness. If you need to create your class schedule or would like to request a schedule change, the B-UHS counselors will be available for appointments on Monday, August 10, Tuesday, August 11, and Wednesday, August 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

We are excited to offer a new SAT Preparation course this school year! This class is available to upcoming sophomores, juniors, and seniors who would like additional support and guidance in improving their SAT scores and increasing their opportunities for college scholarships.
One of the primary goals of this course is to help students qualify for the Promise Scholarship, which provides $5,500 per year—up to $22,000 over four years—for students who meet and maintain the scholarship requirements while attending college.
The SAT Preparation course will be offered during 4th period and will focus on test-taking strategies, targeted skill development, practice assessments, and individualized support to help students reach their highest potential.
If your student is interested in enrolling in this course, please have them contact the school counselors as soon as possible by calling 304-472-3720, ext. 5018 or ext. 5005, or by sending them an email.

Any B-UHS students that are interested in participating on the golf team this year, there will be a parent meeting on Tuesday, July 14th at 5:00 PM in the Commons Area. Flex practice schedule is also attached.

Good Morning Families,
We are starting a new course next year that is SAT preparation. This will be offered to upcoming junior students that would like support and guidance on achieving higher scores on the SAT and potentially earning the Promise Scholarship towards college. The Promise Scholarship awards recipients $5,500 a year and $22,000 over four years if the student maintains the expected criteria. If your student is interested in this class for the upcoming year, please have them see a counselor next week. The class will be offered during 4th period.
