In times like these, we are reminded that our communities are connected. We celebrate together, we grieve together, and we stand together. While the road to recovery may be difficult, we know the resilience, compassion, and determination of West Virginians will carry us forward.
If you or your family need support, please know that Buckhannon-Upshur High School is here to help. Whether it’s connecting you with resources, offering encouragement, or simply being someone to lean on, don’t hesitate to reach out.
We also want to express our sincere gratitude to the first responders, emergency personnel, volunteers, school employees, and countless community members who have worked tirelessly to protect lives, support families, and begin the recovery process. Your selflessness is an inspiration to us all.
Please continue to check on your neighbors, lend a helping hand where you can, and keep all those affected across our region in your thoughts and prayers.
To our friends in every community affected: We stand with you. You are not alone.
Together, we will recover. Together, we will rebuild. Together, we will come back stronger.

With having to limit seating due to the change in venue, we have worked it out that a livestream will happen of the graduation ceremony this evening. It can be found on our Youtube channel, https://www.youtube.com/@mrs_neely
Good Morning Families,
We are starting a new course next year that is SAT preparation. This will be offered to upcoming junior students that would like support and guidance on achieving higher scores on the SAT and potentially earning the Promise Scholarship towards college. The Promise Scholarship awards recipients $5,500 a year and $22,000 over four years if the student maintains the expected criteria. If your student is interested in this class for the upcoming year, please have them see a counselor next week. The class will be offered during 4th period.
Attention Seniors
Tomorrow morning is senior breakfast at 8:00 followed by graduation practice at B-UHS. All students walking at graduation are required to attend the practice.
Tickets will be given out at the end of practice. Each student will receive 6 tickets. The high school will not provide extra tickets to anyone and will not obtain tickets from people to provide for others.
More information about parking and other things will be coming in the following days.
Due to weather concerns, graduation has been moved to the Rockefeller Center Gymnasium on the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College.
All graduates are REQUIRED to attend graduation practice on Wednesday at 8:00 AM at Buckhannon-Upshur High School. During practice, each graduate will receive six (6) tickets for the ceremony. Because graduation has been moved indoors, seating is limited, and tickets must be restricted to ensure every graduate is able to have loved ones in attendance.
Additionally, Senior Awards Night will be held on Thursday at 6:00 PM in the auditorium at Buckhannon-Upshur High School. Any senior who has applied for scholarships or may potentially receive an award is strongly encouraged to attend.
