B-UHS Summer School will not be in session on June 20th or July 4th, due to the observance of West Virginia Day and Independence Day.

St. Joseph's Hospital is hosting a Junior Nursing Academy during July 15-17 and July 29-31, and it is open to 11th and 12th grade students at B-UHS. Spots go quickly, so sign up fast if you are interested! As a reminder, Summer School starts on Monday, June 10th, at 8 AM, and goes until 1 PM. Doors open at 7:30 AM.
Transportation is the responsibility of the student/parent/guardian.
Spots are still available if your student has not yet enrolled.

Report cards were mailed this afternoon, so families should receive them in the next few days. Students who failed a core class were also mailed a Summer School registration form. Please be reminded that 9th and 10th grade students who failed a core class are required to sign up for Summer School.

Students in 9th and 10th grade who failed core classes (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) during the 23-24 school year are required to enroll in Summer School. Students in this category who are unable to attend Summer School will lose an elective opportunity in their 24-25 schedule. Summer School starts June 10th at 8 am at B-UHS. Registration forms will be sent out with report cards and will also be available in the B-UHS front office.

Attention Summer Pierpont Students:
Some classes started today.....Make sure you reset your password for Pierpont so you do not get locked out of your account. Here are the directions:
Pierpont Password instructions
1. Using your temporary password, first go to portal.microsoftonline.com
2. Sign in using your Pierpont username -------@student.pierpont.edu and your temporary password.
3. Go to settings and change your password. This will keep your password from resetting.
4. Wait about 5 minutes and then login to Blackboard with this new password you created.

BUHS will be holding graduation outside on Friday evening. Ceremony starts at 6:00. Please arrive early as traffic will back up and it will take some time to get into the stadium. Seniors need to be in the auditorium at 5:00. Gates will open at 4:45.

All student MacBooks and chargers must be turned in before the final day for all students. Seniors must turn in their MacBooks and chargers by Tuesday, May 21st. Please do not wait until senior breakfast. Seniors, in order to receive your graduation tickets, you must have all items turned in or pay for the missing items. (chargers= $20)

It’s almost time for Viva Las Vegas Prom 2024! Doors will open at 7 pm. B-UHS students with an out of school guest will line up on the left side of the sidewalk( please have identification), others line up on the right. Prom goers will be treated with Zul’s lemonade & kettle corn, Hippie Dippie Donuts and Photo Booth for keepsakes!

Graduation Tickets for BUHS
Students graduating on May 24 will receive tickets at the end of graduation practice on May 22. The number of tickets depends on the location of the ceremony.
If we are outside we will give 10 tickets and students can request extras.
If we are inside we need to limit to 5 tickets due the occupancy of our gymnasium.

B-UHS Junior/Senior Prom will be at the Brushy Fork Event Center on Saturday, April 27 from 7:00-10:00 pm. Ticket sales will end on Thursday, April 25. Cash or check to B-UHS will be accepted. All out of school guests must have a form turned in by Thursday, April 25! Snacks & drinks will provided and a Photo Booth for free! There will be outdoor games, black jack and dancing! Questions? Good afternoon from BUHS,
This week students are taking the SAT. All students in grades 9, 10 and 11 will be taking the SAT test. Please help us by:
1. Making sure students get a good night's rest on Tuesday.
2. Make sure they arrive to school on time.
3. Make sure they have their MacBooks charged and ready for testing.
4. Students will only be released when testing is concluded.
Testing should be completed around 11:30.
Seniors will have a virtual day on 4.17.24. Seniors who attend FETC need to report at their assigned times.

B-UHS will be hold 2 dual credit meetings tomorrow. The first meeting will be at 2pm and the 2nd will be at 5pm. This will be for students wanting to take summer, fall or winter term dual credit classes next year through Pierpont. Parents are welcome to attend either meeting.

Attention: Students and families! Stop by anytime this evening for Next Steps Night from 5:00-7:00 pm at Buckhannon-Upshur High School. There is no set schedule. Come and help plan your student’s future in high school and beyond. Colleges, technical schools, military, community resources, physical and mental health and so much more will be here!
